Is it safe to use Veet to remove pubic hair?

I've used it a few times before without any problems, but my friend told me today that it's unsafe to use on your bikini area. Is it okay to use if it doesn't bother me? I can't stand having my pubic hair grown out because it gets pulled and it itches, but when I shave with a razor the pain and itching is simply unbearable. Also, my mother won't let me get it waxed off. (I'm only 15 so I can't go get it done without her!) HELP?
