How can u make ur hair thinner without using thinning shears?

Okay I'm mixed with black and white so my hair is kinda kinky With little curls and i straighten my hair pretty often and I want to get my hair thinned cause my hair is really really thick so I have to do something and the reason I might not be able to get it thinned is because of the texture of my hair it could make it look even thicker if I get I thinned but idk yet so. Idk what I should do to make it thinner or make it look thinner pls help if u can thank you
